AgentVerified brings public insurance-license information into a searchable record and gives agents a way to share their credentials. The source and the date matter more than a badge.
Who is behind AgentVerified?
AgentVerified is a standalone project providing insurance-license information at agentverified.org. Nick Stults is the public project contact for questions about the service and its verification process.
Our work is to collect, organize and check published license information. State regulators issue licenses and determine their standing. An AgentVerified page or badge does not replace that authority.
An independent service
AgentVerified is an independent verification service. It is not a state department of insurance, the National Insurance Producer Registry, or any government agency, and it does not license, endorse or recommend agents. On a reviewed agent page, "verified" means that, on the date shown, the NPN resolved to the agent and the listed state licenses showed active under the same name in public regulator records. Licenses can lapse or be revoked after that date; always confirm current status with your state’s department of insurance.
Free public search is available to consumers, families, businesses and agents. AgentVerified sells optional claimed records and reviewed agent pages; payment does not change a regulator’s licensing data.
Three kinds of evidence

Coverage is not uniform
Our current methods cover 9 jurisdictions with complete regulator files and 36 with live checks by NPN or name where supported. Those live-check indexes can be partial. For 6 jurisdictions, we direct visitors to the official lookup because an automated channel is unavailable to us.
Files refresh on source schedules. Live results can be cached, and a lookup may be busy or unavailable. A state’s current official record takes precedence over a copy here. Record counts refer to license records, not unique agents.
How we maintain these guides
Our guides explain how to find and interpret a record. We link to regulator, NAIC and NIPR sources for external claims and to our own product documentation for how AgentVerified works. Each guide displays its review date. A review date is not a guarantee that a source has remained unchanged.
Examples are labeled as examples. Sample agent pages use fictional identities and sample identifiers; they are marked to stay out of search results. We do not publish invented customer results, reviews, offices or regulator endorsements.
These guides do not recommend insurance products or determine legal eligibility to sell them. For a rule or status that affects a transaction, confirm with the relevant regulator or insurer.
Check the evidence yourself
A useful record lets you repeat the check. Match the NPN, state and license number, compare the published fields, and read the source date before relying on a result. A recent page visit does not mean every source was refreshed at that moment.
We publish dated comparisons between selected index records and the regulator dataset. Each comparison states what was checked and what remains unverified. These internal checks do not establish an accuracy rate for the whole register or an independent endorsement of the service.
Corrections and questions
If our record differs from the official source, include the NPN, state and source link in a correction report. If the regulator’s record is wrong, the regulator must correct it first. Buying a profile is not required to report a problem.
